Halliburton Settles Religious Discrimination Suit from Muslim Workers

U.S. multinational corporation Halliburton has settled a religious discrimination lawsuit from two Muslim workers of Indian and Syrian descent for US$275,000. So reports India Today.

The two workers also said they were accused of being linked with terrorists by employees of the Houston-headquartered company, which employs more than 55,000 worldwide. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission brought the suit. According to the EEOC, “the two men were made to openly suffer insults including radio broad­casts of the offensive characterizations.”

As part of the settlement, Halliburton said it would hold training on national origin and religious discrimination for managers and human resources employees.
