HR Director Says Subordinate Forged Settlement Agreement

A top San Francisco human resources head sent an email last month to city officials alleging that her subordinate forged a discrimination settlement agreement on behalf of an African American employee. So reports San Francisco News.

email 1454731 640Micki Callahan, director for the city and county of San Francisco’s Department of Human Resources, noted on the September 18 email, entitled “Corruption at DHR,” that Rebecca Sherman also “admitted in writing that she had forged documents and lied to a city employee about that employee’s [Equal Employment Opportunity] case.”

Among the email’s recipients were Mayor London Breed and Board of Supervisors members. Callahan also wrote that Sherman unexpectedly quit from her role as EEO manager earlier last month and had referred to Sherman as a “rogue employee.”

Sherman could not be reached for comment and her LinkedIn page was deleted.

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin was one of hundreds of employees who saw the email, Mission Local reports.

“I am deeply troubled by the allegations, and based on the email I received sent by Micki Callahan, it appears this DHR employee likely committed multiple criminal offenses,” Boudin said. “And I intend to investigate and take appropriate action.”
