“We want to drive a step change in the representation of financial advisers,” Kristin Lemkau, CEO of JPMorgan’s wealth-management unit, said last month. “We have made progress in recent years, and hiring 300 Black and Latinx advisers will accelerate that progress materially."
JPMorgan is working with historically black colleges and universities over the next five years to inform students about wealth management career opportunities as well as providing private scholarships, training and licenses. It aims to create 185 full-time jobs from this effort by 2025.
