The VA Benefits That Keep On Giving

It's ironic that at a time when the Veterans Administration (VA) is deservedly in the spotlight for its inadequate treatment of returning Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers, the agency is still cutting checks to 16 widows and children of veterans of the Spanish-American War of 1898. So reports The Wall Street Journal.

It is a reminder that the costs of war stretch far beyond the final battle.
