Does Your Firm Encourage Employees to Unplug During Vacation?

This is the time of year when business slows down at many companies, and employees take time off. So reports Insight Performance.

But now with iPhones, iPads, WiFi and general 24/7 connectivity, are your people making the most of their summer vacations or staying "plugged in" when they should be completely detached from their jobs? And which does your company encourage?

Admittedly, many of us have become addicted to our electronic devices, and checking our e-mails or voicemails when we're away from the office has become part of the extended workday. But it's also a good opportunity to remind your work force that the purpose of vacations is to rest, recharge their batteries and come back to work feeling rejuvenated.

Otherwise, there's not much point in taking time off when even a "stay-cation" turns into a week of working from home.
