How Important is Workplace Culture?

Fortune teamed up with Great Place to Work for the 18th installment of 100 Best Companies to Work For rankings, yielding several noticeable trends, including the importance of great workplace culture. So reports Fortune.

Training for managers and hourly staffers has shot up 80% in the nearly two decades the report has been published. Further, the Trust Index, a key factor in the survey, shows employees are happier now, on average, than their counterparts 18 years ago.

The article indicates that companies attribute market success with “benevolent” people practices. Google executives, who have led the company to the top spot again- the sixth time in the last eight years--stated explicitly the importance of workplace culture. The article also notes the importance of listening to employees at all levels of the company.
