'What Does an Engineer Look Like?' Campaign Shines Light on Workplace Gender Equality

As gender equality in the workplace continues to dominate the public discourse and the role of HR, one female engineer took issue with the online reaction to her company's ad campaign featuring her photo. So reports NPR.

Software engineer Isis Wenger launched the #ILookLikeAnEngineer social media campaign after comments surfaced that the ad campaign was disingenuous. Subsequently, dozens of others posted their picture with Wenger's hashtag, commenting that engineers are a diverse bunch. The tech field has been in the news in recent months as being primarily male-centric and a number of organizations are looking at ways to balance the field.
