Nearly 1-in-10 Prospective Millennial Biz Students Looking to HR: Survey

Human Resources ranked much higher as a field of interest for business-minded millennials than Baby Boomers and Gen Xers, according to a recent survey.

The survey, from the Graduate Management Admission Council, shows that 9% of millennials considering business school ranked HR as a Top 10 industry they’d pursue. So reports US News & World Report.

Prospective students should consider looking to find programs built into the business schools they are considering, says Ibraiz Tarique, director of global human resources management programs at Pace University's Lubin School of Business.

“Applicants should … make sure an institution's HR program is housed within a business school, as opposed to another college or school within the university,” he says. Further, according to information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, students with an MBA are at an advantage in a competitive HR landscape.
