That increase has elevated the number of women in directorship positions to 13.1% overall for the 100 top-listed companies and represents the biggest jump in the last three years. Women comprised 10.9%, 9.5% and 8.6% of boards in 2016, 2015 and 2014, respectively.
The goal is to boost the number of women directors to 20% by 2020, 25% by 2025 and 30% by 2030, says Loh Boon Chye, chairman of the Diversity Action Committee.
