Women Directors Up 20% for Singapore's Top 100 Companies

The top 100 public companies in Singapore have seen a 20% increase in the number of women appointed to boards of directors from 2016 to 2017. So reports the Singapore Diversity Action Committee.

That increase has elevated the number of women in directorship positions to 13.1% overall for the 100 top-listed companies and represents the biggest jump in the last three years. Women comprised 10.9%, 9.5% and 8.6% of boards in 2016, 2015 and 2014, respectively.

The goal is to boost the number of women directors to 20% by 2020, 25% by 2025 and 30% by 2030, says Loh Boon Chye, chairman of the Diversity Action Committee.
