Chief HR Officers Wearing Many Hats

If they haven’t already, many chief human resource officers (CHROs) are quickly learning that the role is not their father’s HR. So reports The Business Journals

Today’s CHRO serves as a “counselor, coach and trusted advisor to the CEO,” and who’s opinions are highly sought after at the executive table, notes contributing writer Laura Fries. She is the managing director and executive vice president of Baker Tilly’s Executive Search practice.

“Interestingly, today’s most-effective CHROs often come from non-HR backgrounds such as finance, operations or legal,” writes Fries. “These talent powerhouses are assertive and data-driven leaders who take a stance on talent issues and use relevant facts to deliver a talent strategy for their organization.”
