NZ Leadership Failing to Put Their People First

Senior leaders in New Zealand are failing to show employees they care about their concerns, according to new research. So reports Human Resources Director New Zealand.

Nearly 60% of 229 New Zealand HR leaders questioned in the People Risk Survey said top leadership did not prioritize so-called people risks and 28% noted that leadership was not proactive in these efforts.

The top people risks are talent attraction, key person risk, talent scarcity, talent retention and succession planning, according to the research. The survey, conducted by Mercer Marsh Benefits and the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand, also found that 56% of respondents noted they did not have a plan to handle people risk issues and half said they had no succession plan.
