Company employers who “unfairly demote or dismiss” workers who allege harassment could face three years in prison or be fined as high as US$25,400. One labour rights group cited several examples of employer abuse, including ordering employees to write essays for a supervisor’s child, performing “sexy dances” for executives and pulling out a manager's grey hairs.
Two-thirds of employees cited harassment at the workplace and 80% said they were witnesses to such harassment, according to a recent government survey.
