Women Trail Men In Pay In Singapore

Working women in Singapore are pulling in 6% less, on average, than their male counterparts in similar jobs when it comes to medium monthly pay. So reports HRM Asia.

railway 1758208 640 smallThe Ministry of Manpower (MOM) reviewed data of full-time employees ages 25 to 64 from 33,000 households in 2018 in reporting the disparity. The MOM took into consideration workers’ industry, occupation, age and education in coming up with the 6% adjusted medium pay gap. The 6% adjusted medium pay gap compares with a 16.3% unadjusted medium pay gap between women and men.
