Recognizing One Employee Has a Multiplier Effect

When a firm recognizes a single employee’s accomplishments it can foster good will among the entire staff. So reports Bloomberg BNA.

A survey by Salt Lake City-based O.C. Tanner, a firm that specializes in aiding companies to recognize their workers, found that “four out of five employees say that recognizing someone else’s achievements makes them want to work harder.”

Nearly 3,500 employees in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, India, Singapore and Germany were surveyed. Millennials ranked even higher with 85% saying they were motivated to work harder when their colleagues were recognized.
