Doug Thilman asked for the transfer and was moved to the newly created position of senior director for customer service in the transportation department. He had been assistant superintendent for HR.
The demotion came following an internal investigation last fall of Thilman’s email use. School district officials would not comment on why they investigated Thilman and who led the investigation, noting rules against disclosing information from employees’ personnel files.
Thilman was not suspended and has worked for the district for almost 20 years. Thilman did not respond to requests for comment. His annual pay dropped from $128,267 to $120,163.
