Ambition Runs High With HR Pros in UK

Of more than 13,000 workers that were part of a nationwide survey by Hays, 83% of those in the HR field said they were ambitious. That's compared with 78% of non-HR employees.

Just under 50% of HR professionals were "significantly more likely" to target senior management roles compared to 38% of other employees. But, HR does trail when it comes to their aspirations for the C-suite. Only 18% said there were interested in these roles versus 21% of other employees.

Still, 69% of HR workers rated their job satisfaction as excellent or good compared to the 63% average for UK workers. "The report suggests that HR professionals are clearly up for the challenge of navigating often complex, changing environments and working towards sustainable performance," says Claire McCartney, associate research adviser at the CIPD, a UK human resources organization.
