The meal-kit delivery company announced the resignation of Kate Muzzatti internally last month, according to two sources, and on the same day it stopped hiring salaried workers. The axed recruiters, totaling 14, included those responsible for finding operations and technical talent.
Blue Apron has more than 5,000 employees. The firm confirmed Muzzatti’s resignation, noting that she has linked up with MM. LaFleur, a women’s apparel startup.
The company struggled to raise money when it went public in June and then in August its co-founder, Matt Wadiak, resigned as chief operating officer. Blue Apron has been shifting to a new, upgraded fulfillment operation center in Linden, New Jersey, while closing down an older factory in Jersey City.
