ZipRecruiter is a Slap In Face to HR

ZipRecruiter has promoted itself as a quick and easy way for recruiters to find ideal job candidates, but it is really a slap in the face to human resource departments. So reports PBS Newshour.

ZipRecruiter proudly boast on radio ads of its service as ‘the fastest way to hire great people’ by allowing HR to post listings to more than 100 job boards in one submission, Nick Corcodilos, a veteran recruiter, writes for PBS Newshour’s “Ask The Headhunter” column. But, he says the service is neither helpful to HR or job candidates.

ZipRecruiter charges employers $249 a month to post listings and revenue is up 270% since 2013, Corcodilos writes citing a USA Today article. All the while, ZipRecruiter’s ads note how much of a hassle the job recruiting process is for HR.

“What’s it like when the vendor you rely on to do your job for you blares to the world that your job is one big bother?” Corcodilos writes. “Do HR execs love being insulted? Well, they keep paying for it.” And it’s no better for job seekers, he notes. “While ZipRecruiter’s investors are cleaning up, job seekers are left drowning in the mess left behind by the job boards,” Corcodilos writes.
