Michelle Beale said that after reporting unwanted texts from Brian Borg, the former director of risk management from Sweetwater Union High School District, she feels retaliated against. Beale has turned down a number of positions in the district at different locations offered by the district, a district spokesman said.
“He was saying he was going to do things to her, including putting his hand over her mouth and engaging in sexual misconduct,” said Beale’s attorney Marc Carlos. “This is a supervisor in human resources. This is from someone who actually trains people in sexual harassment.”
The school district put Borg on leave hours after learning about the text and later fired him. “If this is the way I’m treated when you report something, and immediately, as the victim, you become blamed, shamed and everything else, imagine students,” Beale said. “You see this and this is how you’re treated as a professional who really knows her rights. Imagine a poor student who doesn’t know what their rights are.”
