"As we know, harassment continues to exist in the workplace," says Melissa Carrillo, chief human resources officer for El Paso County. "The county of El Paso truly wants to ensure that the message is sent loud and clear to managers and employees, that this is an organization that does not tolerate harassment of any kind."
There were 11 harassment claims filed in 2016 and five of those were investigated, Carrillo notes. That compares with 23 claims filed last year, with 12 being investigated. Year-to-date, as of late March, there have been nine claims filed and five were investigated.
