LSU HR Head to Retire After Derogatory Emails Discovered

The human resources head for Louisiana State University announced he will retire after an investigation found emails from him with derogatory comments about his colleagues. So reports WAFB-TV.

A.G. Monaco, who had served as associate vice president of LSU's human resources department, called the LSU Police Department an "asylum" in one of his emails and labeled an employee a "lying cheat" in another email.

He had been placed on paid leave in April before announcing his retirement that same month. "A.G. Monaco has done a lot of good work on behalf of LSU," LSU interim vice president of strategic communications Jason Droddy, said in a statement. "However, recent records requests caused LSU administrators to review Dr. Monaco's emails and their tone. Rather than have the emails become a distraction from the good work that university staff is performing, Dr. Monaco decided to retire effective July 1, 2018, and to go on leave until that date."
