School HR Director Sues for Family Leave, Wage Discrimination

A human resources director in a Washington State school district alleges that she faced discrimination relating to the federal family leave act and is suing for wages that were illegally withheld. So reports the Yakima Herald.

Shannon McMinimee, who worked as HR director for the Yakima School District, has sued seeking damages for back pay, lost benefits and lawyer fees. She is also calling for the court to order the district to abide by the federal Family and Medical Leave Act.

McMinimee alleges that the district placed her on leave when she objected to discriminatory actions. She is seeking $500,000 in damages, according to a notice of claim she filed in April.
