The alleged harassment targeted women and black employees and was part of the management culture, claims Claudia Henderson in her lawsuit. Henderson served as senior vice president of HR.
After she spoke out against the harassment, the hospital hired a white man, who was less qualified and paid more, to replace her, according to her suit.
Henderson now works as chief human resources officer at Boston Globe Media. She declined to comment. Her suit names Steward's chief executive Ralph de la Torre and general counsel Joseph Maher Jr.
Steward's attorney said "the allegations are completely unfounded."
