Ex-HR Manager Gets Prison Sentence for Stealing $130K

A human resources manager for a Lowe's Home Improvement store who was accused of stealing more than $130,000 in January was sentenced to serve three to 15 years in state prison. So reports Lebanon Daily News.

Lowe's loss prevention joined police December last year to investigate an "elaborate scheme" carried out by then 25-year-old Keynan Kinard.

Kinard allegedly stole the identities of 46 former workers and changed their status to make it seem like they were still employed. After tampering with the company software, he eventually was able to create debit cards that were mailed to the store. He would then withdraw cash from the cards, as reported.

Kinard pled guilty Sept. 11 to numerous charges, including 46 counts of identity theft. He also is required to pay Lowe's more than $130,000. "I take complete ownership of my actions and I'm deeply remorseful for the victims affected directly and indirectly," Kinard said.
