Unilever Hits Gender Balance Mark a Year Ahead of Schedule

Unilever has raised the bar for its competitors by employing the same number of women and men in global leadership roles, and has accomplished this a year ahead of its initial goal. So reports Campaign.

men 4451375 640smallThe 50/50 gender balance is a first for the conglomerate that counts Ben & Jerry’s, Dove, Lynx and Magnum among its brands. Leading up to the milestone, women had made up 38% of managers in 2010. Women also now comprise 45% of the firm’s non-executive board. Female managers in operations and technology, finance, and supply chain now make up 47%, 50% and 40%, respectively.
