Goldman Sachs had raised $6.5 billion for a Malaysian-owned investment fund, but much of that money was allegedly swiped by the fund’s manager with help from two Goldman employees. The money was used to purchase real estate and luxury items.
Goldman’s board called the scandal “an institutional failure, inconsistent with the high expectations it has for the firm.”
