HR Official to House Committee: OK to Fib

A recording played back at a House oversight committee meeting revealed that Tosha Autry, HR director of South Carolina’s Department of Public Safety, says it OK to lie. So reports the Associated Press.

“You will tell white lies because you know what is going on, but you’ve got to act like you don’t know what is going on,” Autry says on tape. She defended herself noting the comment was out of context. The meeting was called off to give Autry’s department time to review the tape in full context. Lawmakers did not say when the tape was made or to who Autry may have spoken to.
