MasterCard In India Needs More Women

Women represent 40% of MasterCard’s global workforce compared to 60% for men, and this needs to change. So reports The Economic Times.

India represents MasterCard’s second largest employee base and the company has grown its female ranks in the country – now 1,500 compared to less than a 100 a few years ago, says Ron Garrow, chief human resources officer at payments network MasterCard.

The firm aims to grow that number 10% every year. “We observe that the percentage of buying choices made by women across the globe is more than 85%,” Garrow says. “We need more women because it is a business case for us and we are focusing on that.”
